LampStrong Gets Sweet on Inaugural Donut Tour

A warm gesture of appreciation is extended from Matt Lampson to the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, his participating teammates, and the attendees of the first ever Lampstrong Foundation Chicago Donut Tour. Early in the morning on January 14th over 50 folks gathered at the Fado Irish Pub Chicago in order to indulge in what donut connoisseur Matt Lampson deemed as a sampling of the “best donuts offered in Chicago”. Armed with a warm beverage, participants piled into a trolley and were shuttled through the streets of downtown Chicago with stops starting at Do-Rite Donuts. The group then visited the Doughnut Vault, Stan’s Donuts, and Firecakes Donuts. The heartiest of donut eaters then stuffed one last donut down their gullets at Glazed and Infused. Those less hearty eaters succumbed to the challenge and resorted to stockpiling their donuts in “doggie bags” for future home consumption. The group was treated along the way with pop up visits from Chicago Fire players Arturo Alvarez, Drew Conner, Matt Polster, Joey Calistri, Patrick Doody, and Collin Fernandez. A few lucky donut eaters were treated to special giveaways such as authentic player jerseys.

This unique event raised $2,200.00 benefitting the Lampstrong Foundation. The proceeds are earmarked to aid the foundation in order to benefit its mission, vision, and pillars.
