On Saturday, August 30, Matt Lampson extended his LampStrong Hero program into Canada. He was able to welcome 3 year old AML Survivor, Nolan, to the Crew match against the Montreal Impact in partnership with the Quebec Region LLS. On Saturday, August 23, Matt Lampson was able to welcome not one but two special Heroes to Crew Stadium. Both 9 year old Kinley and 14 year old Ashley and their familes were able to attend the match against the Houston Dynamo. Thanks to LLS Central Ohio for making assisting to set up the Meet & Greet.
Matt Lampson held a clinic for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central Ohio Live Auction winners from the Man and Woman of the Year Gala in May at Crew Stadium. The Crew beat the LA Galaxy, on Saturday, August 16, after the match Matt Lampson met with 16 year old Hodgkin Lymphoma Survivor Salil Mahajan and his friends. After the meet & greet where they got Crew gifts and autographs, Salil and his friends were able to watch the post-match fireworks from the field.
The 2014 LLS Hero Social was held at Crew Stadium on Saturday, August 9. Heroes met before the match, tailgated in the parking lot, watched the Crew take on Toronto FC and after the match had a special Meet & Greet with Matt Lampson. After starting the first ever Chipotle MLS Homegrown Match in Portland, Matt Lampson was able to welcome two Heroes to the field. Cole is a Burkitt's Leukemia survivor.
